Domino’s Pizza is one of the largest pizza chains in the United States. Tom Monaghan, the founder, reveals the origins of Domino’s Rolex in his autobiography, Pizza Tiger. According to the memoir, he recalls giving out watches in 1977 after a franchisee asked about his Bulova piece with a Domino’s logo on its face. Although he started giving away Seikos, he upgraded to $800 Rolex watches.

The Rolex pieces mentioned in the autobiography are Air-King ref. 5500. These luxury watches have a stainless steel 34mm Oyster case, time-only dial and steel Oyster bracelet, making the Air-King 5500 one of the most understated models.
